Kiwi Challenge Golf Music - Several songs off Seven Day Cure will feature on NBC Sports Kiwi Challenge Golf Show this weekend. The show will air US wide saturday and sunday at 4pm on NBC. That's an eagle right there. No bogeys.

Two Songs In Dustin Hoffman Movie - Two tunes from the Seven Day Cure album will be heard in the new Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson Feature "Last Chance Harvey" due for release Dec 08 in the US and early 09 everywhere else. Both "Looking Out On Monday" and "I Got Opinions" will be heard in the Flik which was filmed on location in London.

Every Ticket sold on NZ Tour. Cher! - Thanks to all the folks who came along to one of Greg's 11 recent Cocktail Club Shows and apologies to those that missed out on tickets this time round. The shows were to promote the new album Seven Day Cure and to revive the table-seated atmosphere of the original Cocktail Club. Say's Greg
"Cheers to everyone that came along and made it so much fun! Big thanks to my band and to all the special guests we had. Musically we played some of our best shows ever I thought, the only drama being when Ted caught fire shortly after coming off stage on the last night. Luckily he was un-hurt and only his $1600 jacket was destroyed. Cheers to the folks that put him out too."

Top 20! - "Seven Day Cure" hit #20 on the NZ album Chart this week up from 23 first week in. That means every album Greg's ever bloody made has been in the top 20. even the ones you ain't heard. A drink for the songwriter I think. Seven Day also peaked at #6 on Itunes NZ and 125 on iTunes Morocco.. if you don't have the record yet..well you know what to do rocker. Buy it and make us ALL richer!

Show at 38,000 Feet! - Greg and band mate Wayne Bell performed an acoustic set at each end of an Air New Zealand 747 Sept 3rd somewhere to the east of Hawaii. Thanks to Air New Zealand the lads launched the new album to a surprised but enthusiastic audience shortly after reaching altitude out of Los Angeles on a flight to New Zealand. Specially invited guests included Samantha Hayes from TV3's Nightline plus film crew, Bonnie Sumner from the Sunday Star Times and EMI Records Promotions manager Steve Cadman.
Say's Greg "It was probably the strangest show I've ever done, and the engines are louder than you think once you start singing, but it was brilliant fun and the passengers seemed to really enjoy it. I'm really proud that New Zealand has such a cool airline in Air NZ, I can't imagine any other carrier doing that."
Greg's quick trip home included an industry and press launch ahead of the full tour October.

The Cocktail Club Returns! - Greg will be heading to New Zealand October 08 (Air New Zealand of course!) for shows celebrating the release of the new album "Seven Day Cure". The much loved "Cocktail Club" style shows will feature special guests and extra revelry! As well as a month of these shows Auckland and Wellington, Greg and Band are also very pleased to announce shows in Pukekohe, Leigh, Whangarei and Palmerston North. Greg wants to note that he regrets he can't get to the South Island this trip but promises to do so early next year. "My promoter thinks I've got too bloody soft to cope with that real Southern winter now.. and I've started wearing women's underwear again so he's probably right!" Flight Of The Conchords - Greg was chuffed to be asked to join the bill at Largo with Boh Runga at the recent 1st national international new zealand day, brainchild of Bret from the FOTC. Boh has recently moved to Los Angeles and has already gotten together with Greg to do a little writing and drinking! Maybe a duet in the making???

7 Day Cure is coming! Hold on!!! - It's been a while in the making but "Seven Day Cure" is in the last few weeks of production. No date for NZ release as yet, but should be soon. Meantime the USA and elsewhere can expect digital availability from September 1st..
Say's Greg " This album has taken twice as long as any previous to make simply because of the additional attention to detail and tweaking that's been going on..it is sounding stunning, the production is not only world-class but probably better than most Alien Civilizations could manage as well, certainly better than anything done by the Martian Landers "

US Tour Confirmed! - Beginning in San Diego April and ending up in Nashville June the British Empire Tour is a go! Venues will be announced soon and the run will be San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, DC, New York, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Boston, Mineapolis, Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago, Champaign, St Louis, and Nashville.

NZ Feb 2008! - Things are shaping up for 2008, beginning with a number of live dates in New Zealand February (see shows) Greg will play two nights solo at Whiskey Ponsonby Feb 25/26. This is a rare chance to see Mr J on his own in a very intimate venue. Tickets are available at at the venue only, so get down there quick. Also just announced is a spot at Corbans Vineyard in Auckland with Bic Runga, Goldenhorse and Anika Moa on March 2nd.

Greg Meets Burt! - Greg was "totally honoured" to meet Mr Burt Bacharach at the recent Society of Composers and Lyricists dinner at the swanky Riviera Country Club. The Society was honouring members Burt and fellow genius writer Dave Grusin.

New Album Underway! - Work on the 2008 Greg Johnson album is well underway in Los Angeles with the first single expected to land around April 2008. Johnson say's "This album will be a little more intimate than the last two, with the voice up and a few more stripped back arrangements and more strings.. I'm busting to get these tunes into circulation, cos at least one or two are my strongest songs since ever." Daniel Lanois is scheduled to mix two of the new tracks.

Echo Beach - Greg tune "Now The Sun Is Out" will feature in the very first episode of Echo Beach/Moving Wallpaper, a radical new double show starting on England's ITV 1 in early 2008.
Moving Wallpaper is set behind the scenes of a US-style soap opera It is set in the offices of a Television Production company who are producing a surfing drama set in Cornwall…Echo Beach. Moving Wallpaper is a glimpse behind the scenes of Echo Beach and will show on ITV1, followed by an episode of Echo Beach.

Greg Finalist For Best Solo Artist in NZ - Greg has made the Final for Best Male Solo Artist in New Zealand at the 2007 Vodaphone Music Awards along with Tim Finn and Paul McClaney. The winner will be announced later this month at the annual event in Auckland.

Now The Sun Is Out - Greg’s NZ hit song “Now The Sun Is Out” is going to radio in the US this month. The song ended a 12 week run at #1 on AC radio in New Zealand earlier this year.

Kim Crawford Wines - Kim Crawford Wines kindly provided the refreshments for backstage meet and greets at the recent NZ concerts and the association is likely to carry over to the US market soon! Greg said recently “God I love wine.. especially that Kim Crawford Riesling”.
